Ice Cream Social Fundraiser & Member Appreciation Event
DJ’s Ice Cream Parlor (formerly “50’s Something”), will host an Ice Cream Social & Fundraiser to benefit Pagosa’s SOS (Southwest Organization for Sustainability). On Sunday, October 25, 3:00pm to 6:00pm, a portion of the day’s receipts will be donated to SOS. Join us for an afternoon of ice cream at DJ’s, located on the corner of Village and Talisman Drives (east of westside City Market).
There will be raffle prizes and a silent auction. Bring your used batteries and compact fluorescent bulbs, plus any ink cartridges for SOS to dispose of environmentally.
SOS has sponsored the Pagosa Farmers Market since 2007, as well as Earth Day workshops, environmental films, and lecture series. Information will be available regarding new areas of interest and need. Perhaps one of these areas will be a fit for you! For further information, call 946-9024.
The SOS sponsors a quarterly environmental series of events around member and/or pubic identified areas of interest. Unless it falls before a holiday weekend, these events are conducted the fourth Friday of each month at 7:00 pm at the UU Hall. Generally, the series is launched with an environmental film, followed the next month with a speaker with that area of expertise. The quarterly series is concluded with a forum or work session related to the topic, with an emphasis on “what can be done locally.”
Showings take place at the UU Fellowship Hall, located at B-15 in Greenbrier Plaza located at the corner of North Pagosa and Park Blvd.
